How do you track spa ads to booked appointments?
By Bogdan Ladaru · Co-founder & CEO · Updated Sep 13, 2026
Short answer
Track spa ads by counting a confirmed booking, not a click: tag every campaign, record a conversion when the booking is confirmed, carry tracking across to your booking tool if it runs on another domain, count calls and messages that turn into bookings, and reconcile tracked conversions with your booking system every month.
Spa ad reports often look better or worse than the appointment book, because bookings finish in places the ad platform cannot see: a booking tool on another domain, a phone call, a message.
The playbook
- 01
Decide what counts
A confirmed booking, with its value where possible. A click on “Book now” is a step, not a booking.
- 02
Tag every campaign
Campaign tags on ads, bio links and emails, so each booking keeps its source.
- 03
Know where the booking happens
On your site, in a widget or on the booking tool’s own domain. Each needs a different setup, and a booking on another domain loses its source unless tracking is carried across.
- 04
Record the conversion on confirmation
The confirmation step sends the conversion to Google Analytics, Meta and Google Ads. Check which tags and integrations your booking software supports.
- 05
Count calls and messages
Call tracking numbers per channel, and a booking mark on each message that converts. Many spa bookings start in a message.
- 06
Reconcile every month
Compare tracked conversions with real bookings by source in your booking system. The gap shows what tracking misses.
- 07
Respect consent
Tags follow the visitor’s consent choices, including browser privacy signals. Check the privacy rules in the states you operate in.
At a glance
Where the booking happens, and what to set up
| Where guests book | What to set up | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| On your website | A conversion on the confirmation page | Counting “Book now” clicks as bookings |
| In a booking widget on your site | Tags inside the widget, if your booking tool allows them | A confirmation step the tags cannot see |
| On the booking tool’s own site | Cross-domain tracking or the tool’s own ad integrations | Bookings that arrive with no source |
| By phone | A call tracking number per channel | Calls that never reach the report |
| In Instagram or Facebook messages | A booking mark on each conversation that converts | Bookings from social that look like zero |

For Sweat Recovery, a recovery brand inside the MedLife network, we built the website and wired its booking flow. For The Elements Spa we run social media and the paid pushes in its promo windows. The setup above is what we check first in a free paid ads and tracking audit.

Related questions
Why don’t our ad reports match our bookings?
Usually because bookings finish on another domain, in a widget, by phone or in messages, where the ad platform cannot see them. Consent choices and ad blockers also hide some conversions, so reconcile with your booking system every month.
Should we track “Book now” clicks?
Track them as a step, not as the goal. Ads optimized on clicks bring people who click, not people who book.
Can we send booking revenue back to Meta and Google?
Often, yes: as a value on the confirmation conversion, or by importing bookings later. What is possible depends on your booking software.
